I have the Hondaline CB mounted under the trunk on my Interstate. I also bought a complete tail light assembly and wire harnessses for a Standard/Tourer. The tail light won't work on my fender as it hits the CB mounting braket. I've read where the CB can be placed next to the battery. Seems pretty straight forward if that's the case as all i"d need is about a 3' CB antenna extension.
     Do I have this right?

Thank You,

Mark

yep.  mine's under the seat.  it's a tight fit, but it works.  get a two foot car audio antenna extension that way you won't have to buy any other adapters.  (now for someone to reply that i don't know what i'm talking about.....)

the radio fits in the area where the oem tool pouch is kept, you have to cut the divider out and cut a notch down the side of the box for the wires to come around and yes you'll need an extension....if I remember correctly Raymond "Captain of the Black Pearl" had a way to leave the radio where is was and still install the tail light, but I don't remember how he did it....maybe he'll see this post and respond..

If I moved the 1" spacers to the top of the mounting bracket it would work as well. The problem with that is the trunk would look silly raised up and inch and the forward facing mounting screw wouldn't be useable any more. Another idea I had was to move the CB bracket rearward but I don't know if the wires are long enough for that option. Seems pretty easy to just move the CB next to the battery.

Thanks Guys,

Mark

I have the CB on my I/S and the fender brakelight too.....we just rotated the CB 180 degrees and modified the bracket to hold it under the trunk.....it barely touches the taillight..... cooldude
