I always ask why would you.

1 Cheaper

2 Lasts Longer

3 It makes me look cool

Other than that there is no advantage what so ever.

Oh you thought I was talking about car tires on cycles.

Nah, my used Harley Fatboy.

Yes lasts longer.

Never seen a 50 year old Honda, Suzi, Yamahammer, or Jawa, or a lot of others on the road , ride till it drops and then throw it away, cause it costs too much to repair, verses getting another throw away.

You should ask DDT if he plans to " throw away " his Valkyrie with 440,000 miles on it and never any engine work whatsoever.Come back around in 50 years I'll guarantee Valkyrie's will still be rollin' and more than likely still the coolest cruiser on the road  cooldude

BIG AL, my daughter has a 41 y/o Honda 350-Four that belonged to my dad, then me, then her.  It still runs great, looks great even with oem paint job.  I wouldn't be surprised if many Hondas last 50-60 yrs or longer if you can find one that old.  They didn't even sell Hondas in Arkansas until 1966.

My days of looking cool are long over I think. But the scooter still looks cool in spite of me sitting on her.
