We had an XXXtra Large Time!!!!!! FB and I supply a place, and cook some grub...... But All You Fine Folks that come..... Make the Party!!!!!!!!!! And we get ta hang out with some of the Best folks around!!!!! Seeing friends, kickin' tires, tellin' lies...LOL.. WoooHooo!!!!!! Best count with some late arrivals was just over 200. I would have never believed that I would outgrow my BBQ pit.... but we did have to bring in another this year to cook all the meat!!! LOL
We want to thank you ALL for your open hearts and generosity. Y'all raised $ 3816 for the Texas Lions Camp for disabled Children.!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!! FB and I are going to follow Y'all's lead, and round it off to $4000...That sounds like a good round number.
Now here is what it's ALL about: Sarah, the young girl that drew the 50/50 ticket at the Gatherin', has a hearing disability and pulmonary issues.... we are very lucky she is even with us today....Her activities are limited. She is not able to do the things her sisters do. We have been working to get her to the Texas Lions Camp. Her parents had not told her of this, waiting on a sign off from her Doctors.... they didn't want her to be disappointed if unable to go. When Sarah got home she was asking what all the deal was with the money.... her folks told her that it was to support the Camp, and that she was going to go this Summer. Sarah said:"I get to go to camp?" Then she clasped her little hands to her chest and said "I'm so glad I have this"
Thank You ALL for making a difference. gotta stop... the gnats in my eyes have my screen all fuzzy.

It was worth the long 1600 mile ride from SoCal. Now I know what a Texas BBQ is really like. My grilling will never be the same. It was great to meet everyone and put faces to handles and names. Hotglue and Flamingo Babe are the best. Ride safe everyone, BigMac, SoCal.

By all accounts, HotGlue and Flamingo Babe host the largest VRCC event outside of Inzane. One of those "bucket list" things you should do plus it is a fundraiser for a great cause. If you haven't been, start your planning now. Always on April Fool's weekend (hence, "Gatherin' of the Fools") and it is something you must do at least once. But once you do it, you'll be back.
Good to meet you, BigMac. Thanks for riding with my bud Free Pass all the way from California.

Let me start by giving a big THANKS to HG & FB for the fine hospitality and wonderful grub.. In a state where good BBQ is considered a birthright, I don't think I`ve ever had better brisket.. and I have sampled what is considered the best, from Lockhart to Luling. My weekend started by my battery being DOA after getting to the hotel.. Many thanks to Ken for bringing me to buy a new one & helping get me going again. Evveryone whom I met was genuinely nice and a wealth of information...It was great to spend some time with Willow & Motomomma! From Misfit to Oss to Roadkill.. too many to mention.. Had a blast! This was my 1st VRCC event, but looking forward to many more! On to INZANE!

hey bigmac sorry I forgot your name in my ride report
I did not know I went further than you for the Q 1717.83 miles for me by mapquest but nobody really knows how many times we circled Atlanta before actually landing
I knew it had something to do with the Lions club but when Nancy (Mrs TP) explained to me the camp function of the Q and that young girl and other young kids, well that was just one more reason to admire Mark and Charlyne and the effort they put forth every year.
Very proud of the good work done and this club and look forward to seeing some of you in my travels later this year
