Joined One of the "D" bunch..... One "D" being Darkside....  The other being....

DE-SMOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Took a few hours over 2 days..... Also added a 12v receptacle on the handle bars for the iPhone

Did the soft plug version..... Thanks to Brad (Bikerboy1951) for sending me his extra plugs from his De-smog. With those and the Vacuum plugs and new gaskets for the lower tube openings.... I have only like $15 bucks in the whole project....... I re-used the parts on the bottom of the heads, just sealed em with JB weld after I trimmed the tubing down flush.... I did not remove the headers... bit of a cuss fest was heard by any persons near by, but it can be done.....

Seems to have eliminated decel pop... will know for sure after I git a good ride in!

Any good things to cover the holes on top of the heads where the plugs went?

Thanks to all for the tips and good advice on how to do it! Saved me alot of fiddlin' around.
Brad

Just a weather proof one I picked up at O'Rielly's, like 5 bucks.  Had to add wire to it and it plugs directly into the battery tender plug already on the bike ( It came with the same plug) .... so its always hot .... I just zip tied it to the cable bundle near the headset plug..... when not in use it tucks up on top of the cable bundle.

I will be adding an Aux fuse block one of these days the will be switched by the Aux circut and a relay... for now I just make sure to unplug what ever I have plugged in so I don't potentially run the battery down.....

Just tap them in, tap them in the round side up, you could crack the block.  It has happened.  Shocked  Hoser

Here's what I did.

Still used the 9/16 cup plugs to plug the hole. Back filled it with JB Weld & stuck on the nickels. One tip, scuff up the back side of the nickels.  cooldude
