i love old pictures. we had a ton of 'em from when i was growing up. i even have a picture of my great-great grandmother as a child, didn't know they even had camera's back then.
sad to think that with one misfortunate electrical flash, all of our pictures can be deleted off of electronic media today. never to be seen again, so get hard copies, put 'em in an album the old fashion way!!

Cool pics. But, you had me worried when I first read the title, I thought those old pics from the Post Office had surfaced again.

REDSKINS? really? with a chargers helmet ??? We grew up pretty poor.....except for the start of school and Easter, we wore clothes my Mama bought at yard sales and flea markets.....I was lucky when the pants actually went BELOW my ankles!!!!...... Here's a pic of my childhood home.....I think this is my Aunt Katherine holding me when I was a wee lad....Daddy and some of my Uncles built our house...it was added on to a time or two...it wasn't fancy.....it was renovated in the mid 80's......and my Brother has added and updated the insides since my Daddy gave it to him before he died.....

Man, you were good looking young lad, what happend to yah? I love those black leather Harley boots in that one pic. You knew from the beginning you were destined to ride a cycle once older. Pretty cool going back in family history to see pics of my great and great great grandma/grandpa from the 1800's and early 1900's. All the males back then had huge bushy and curvy mustaches and all looked so serious never smiling in any of the pics. Both my parents came from a huge families of 11 on one side and 10 on the other side so clothes and food were rationed for sure. My parents never even had a phone in the house ever growing up and finally got indoor plumbing vs. outhouse in the late 50's, early 60's. Kids nowadays would be lost without these basics.

Or just make backup discs. But yeah, back up all your pics more than once.

Boxer rebellion, the Holy Child. They all pay their rent. But none together can testify to the rhythm of a road well bent. Saddles and zip codes, passports and gates, the Jones' keep. In August the water is trickling, in April it's furious deep.

I noticed those boots too.......I remember hiding my shoes once when I didn't want to go to school.....my Daddy threatened to whip my tail if I didn't hurry up and "find" them before the school bus got there...... We had gravity water.....not enough water pressure to use a hot water heater.....Mama heated water on the wood stoves....never was enough water pressure to run the shower until after city water was put in AFTER I had already come to Athens to go to UGA...... In the winter, sometimes it'd get down cold enough to freeze the pipes even if we left the water trickling at night.....had to go break the ice off the top of the concrete cistern and fill gallon water jugs up for flushing the toilet....and water for cooking, etc.......we did have a phone......until Daddy got mad because his Boss kept calling every morning to tell him the same thing he'd told him the day before.....Mama made him get it back later on......

Could you imagine our kids without phones nowadays or electronic gizmos? My 13 year old daugher I swear gets 5-10 phone calls from 4-5 girly friends every night and talks on the phone over 1 hour each night AND SHE IS ONLY 13. Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it in 2-3 years. She wants a cell phone with texting but that is NOT going to happen anytime soon. I told her to get a babysitting job this summer or any job for that matter and she can pay for it herself and can get one ONLY if she pays for it monthly 15 dollar bill plus texting. I do not have texting nor ever will and just have a basic cell phone and that is all I ever will get or need. Sorry to get off topic!

I had to work for most everything I've ever gotten.....it builds character.....my Brother-in-law and his family have everything handed to them......and it's now causing problems.....my blood boils when I think about that too much..... I'm not against parents helping their kids out SOME, but don't do it ALL for them.....it'll haunt them later......
