Hey T-Bird, I'll add my well wishes and offer up some prayers for your fast and complete healing. As another one that has has had Rib Issues, I feel your pain. Do what you're told, and don't follow you own foolish and stubborn head (sorry, but I assume you are like the rest of us, and know best! )

The key thing is to wake up breathing! All the rest can be fixed. (Except Stupid - You can't fix that)

Dude... I am sitting here wincing as I read about it.
Ribs SUCK. I broke mine about 9 months before I joined the Navy, and they were still sore at boot camp. I was 21 and healed FAST back then.
Crap man... stay off the feet and let 'em heal some. I worry about your back the most. Exercise them lungs... despite the pain... you need to keep on that.
Hang in there dude.
I'll call and chat you a little later in the day... Jabba

Sorry to hear this and hope you heal quickly, oh and it wasn't any worse. 2 things I have found (I'm only in my late forties ) but we do not bounce as well as we did when we were younger, and with my job (fireman/paramedic ) it could have been much worse for you.
I fell at work a few years ago and messed up my back I do feel your pain there, and I too winced when I read it.

Paul, I am up writing this at 2:30am....I cannot sleep, lay, set in any position for more than 2 hrs. and when I do move, it is a sharp intense pain that only screaming out loud seems to cure. I have found that the painkillers are my friend, but am taking them with precaution. It seems somethings are getting better as the days past, such as walking and taking stairs. I am going to drive today for the first time since it has happened. I need to check on my parents and one of my older brothers who is disabled. I hope to try and ride the Valk next wed. to see if I can without much pain. Lucky13 advised me to start doing some short rides before trying to do the hillbilly ride. If I can't ride I will be driving the car to West Virginia
