Hello
I've ordered a fairing from woody(Glenn). The gauge cluster has to be relocated to the handlebar and because of this, I'm considering going to a digital dash. Is there anyone here that has done this? If so what brands.I've seen many options and would be interested in any feedback. Thanks Jim

I have Dakota Digital in one of my Chevelles, and I really like em. I believe they are currently making them for bikes as well.

Thanks Mike. Which model of gauges.I was looking at the 7000 series.I've ordered a fairing from Woody and I have to relocate the stock guages to the handlebar .I was thinking that the digital set would have a smaller footprint so to speak and look pretty sweet. How did you hook up the speedometer? The 7000 series comes with a sensor plus you can get an adaptor for cable drive situations.I don't know if the adaptor is compatible with the valkyrie's or not.I also thought of using the sender from an IS.Any thoughts are appreciated. How many blown valks do you own? I love the idea of doing that. Are kits even still available I wonder.
Thanks

The dakota works perfectly. A bit af a hassle to hook up but well worth it. The speedo adapter was a non issue also. I do have a 7000 series. I own 2 blown valks but have a deal on one of them so shortly it will only be one. I have a neighbor who owns a blown Valk also, his is an I/S! CAll Bill and see if he will put one together for you. It is however not cheap or easy. You will need to know what you are doing or have someone available that does. It is incredible to ride though. I almost do not want to ride the I/S anymore.

It's like a speedo correcter

In Response To: Yup - thats what I want to do... (Brummer)

The DD unit accepts a MHz input, and outputs a MHZ output in relation to, but not the same as, the input.
I have a DD HLY-5000. It's been years ago I programmed mine. I didn't even see the PPM, I just adjusted while underway until it matched my GPSr. It's been dead nuts perfect ever since.
I'll try to find the op instructions on the HLY-5000 and see if I can retreive the PPM. I use the I/S sender directly to it.

Robert,
You mentioned using the Interstate sender, that was one option I was considering.I've seen them listed on ebay for ten to thirty dollars and was wondering if compatible. As I understand it,the 7000 series has the ability for calibrating actual speed built in so a healer isn't needed.Dakota sells an adapter for the cable drive too.Not sure if it will fit the cable of the Valkerie or not.
I appreciate you guys commenting. This is my second Valkyrie.A 2000 standard.Had a 98 a few years ago and then I was bikeless for a few. When I was shopping again for a bike, valkyries were at my top of the list.I have always loved them since they first came out. It's partially bittersweet because of the fact thy're no longer in production.
So that brings me to big mike. I'm familiar with the magna charger as used in many super charged build like Lamonster's from several years ago.Is that the kit you're talking about?I am interested maybe for a project next winter. You say you have a deal one one of yours, you selling?I'm pretty comfortable turning wrenches.I'm a HVAC Refrigeration technician. I work with electronics, wiring and mechanical devices everyday of varying complexity.
Thanks
Jim

I posted early posts by some that have already done what you want to do its in the archives. If you search using the heading that is in my post you will find the answer because Gary/puror does give a wiring diagram and the other post is more info on how to use the interstate sender. One adopted a VTX1800 speedo to a interstate and they did use the sender. Search using Dakota digital and you will see all the options.
