this is a nice ride that I did today and make a lot especially in hotter weather. Up from desert to over 5000' and starts up about 5 minutes from where I live. great scenery and changing landscape. The following link has a description and a "flyover" of the route (check on 3-D Flythough at the top for interesting overview. 17 sec is the start of video and lookout point is at 2:30). I made a you tube of the first section in the flyover on my ride up today. Much cooler in mtns, no traffic and lots of twisties.

these are low desert mtns. Up higher in elevation Pines and oaks and mountain lakes. most of video is similar twisting mtn roads.
