Riding to the local car show this morning on a newly created stretch of 4 lane.

It runs by about 30 acres that has been cleared of trees for years.

A grassy berm rising to my right.

Deer at full lick appears on my right and is going to intersect with my front wheel.

Brakes on hard and my twin horns blare.

As the deer brushed my front wheel eyes wide and ears laid flat I swear I see the muscles in its haunches flex and swell to gain a tad more speed as a reaction to the strident horn.

If there had been a second deer I'd be hurting really bad right now.  angel

If I were a back braker I would have hit the full size bambi. NO QUESTION ABOUT IT.

Even with a car tire on a bike.

That's what got me... the second deer... while I was avoiding the first.
Glad you came out of it unscathed.

I haven't hit a deer yet, but mom did with  the car, caused right at $3,400 in repairs.

Only big animal I ever hit was an old sow.   Sheet my drawers I tell ya, and just knew my step-dad was going to kill me.

He had let my take our BRAND FIRKIN NEW 49 Ford 2 door on a date.   Had 159 miles when I hit that big old Sow.    She lodged under the front right wheel, and lived to walk away from it after the car was raised off of her.      I think there was more of a stain in the seat than there was of blood from the hog on the exterior.
