Friend that knows I might get another bike if the deal is good called. Says "you gotta check out this Suzuki marauder 800 cc v twin. A 99 model and it is perfect with only 4k miles. So, I figure it might have half the power of a Valk with half the engine size and less weight. Light weight, 1/3 the power of a Valk. Also found out I don't like forward controls. If I want to ride legs forward I will stick them on the highway pegs. Legs forward at low speed feels awkward. After riding the dragon nothing else compares.

When I read thumper I thought that you rode a single.  Where I come from a thumper is a one cylinder bike of 500cc or so.

The Marauder  sure wouldn't be my cup of tea either.  I cannot get used to forward controls and weak powered twins.

My Vstrom, while not in the same league as my Valk was, is 95 hp, footpegs and shifter where they belong, and relatively free of vibration.  It goes very well.

They're pretty swell if you get to keep your real controls  cooldude
