I have the 440 13" standard shocks. Progressive Suspension says the shocks are set at the lowest setting when shipped. So far I've turned them a total of 4 turns down clockwise and I think I'm real close to where I'll leave them set.
Does anyone know how many turns they actually can go before the adjustment bottoms out ?

Thanks, Ken

I'm thinking 8 to 10 total rounds.

Ten whole turns? I can see three (or four) threads above my spring cover now,
I can turn it all the way until I can see 10 threads????

I thought I was about maxed out, and am planning to send the shocks back to
get heavy duty springs soon. It would be cool if I didn't have too...

I guess I could just turn the spring cover until it quits going and nothing bad would
happen and all doubt would be gone...?

Great info Guys !!! Thanks
Sounds like I got plenty of turns to go. Progressive recommended the 440 Std for me at 165 lbs, they are definitely stiff enough for me and handle a lot better than my 62k mile OEM's. I've been cranking down the adjustment just a couple turns at a time for when I ride with the wife. Makes it firmer for me when solo but life is a compromise (I hear). Besides when she's happy, she allows me to be happy too.

Sorry, gotta disagree herre. The 440s are marked with lines. After turning the tops down for many turns, you will see an indented line on the shock body. I have never had to turn my HD 440s down past the third line, so I am not sure how many lines there are. I never bother counting turns, just set both on the same line. Lips Sealed

Ok, here's what I have done.  Crank them down until they stop...both shocks.  Now take a black Sharpie and color in the divot on the top collar that is in the outward most position.  Now you have a reference point to work from and will always know the shocks are set the same.  Makes it easy to count the turns. cooldude

440's go 10 turns, and it takes 8 turns on the standard rate shocks (4213) to approximate the lowest setting on the heavy duty shocks (4221).
