I have a 2000 Valkyrie and  I recently experienced hydrolock and broke a tooth on the internal starter gear.  I took the bike to a shop and had the starter gears replaced and the broken tooth removed.  Now there is a gear chatter noise when I start the engine and it goes away about a second after it starts.  Mechanic is not sure what the noise is...Any ideas?

I personally would be inclined to take it bck to the "mechanic" and tell him "It ain't right" and suggest that he take another look inside, at his cost or give me a written guarantee for failure free service, so long as I don't have another hydro-lock. Ya' never know, if he is good and reputable, he just might agree to take another look.

Where all the teeth recovered from inside the clutch cover? I would think not.
