Thought it might help and it does improve the feel when accelerating.


There was wear on the rubber especially at the center.

It definitely makes a difference.

Weird, I've never seen the ones without the metal insert molded into the rubber.

Those were replaced with the molded ones for later models (2001-up for sure, maybe earlier). The newer ones last longer and plug in replacement for the older ones.  I usually tell folks to buy the newer style...they do last longer.
