Most batteries manufactured in the USA are made by Johnson Controls.  They private label for anyone.  The Walmart battery and the Sears Die Hard are the exact same battery made by Johnson Controls.  The Sears Die Hard is usually $5 cheaper.

Don't get confused by a bunch of marketing hype, go buy a Die Hard or Wally World and be done with it.

Charge the battery correctly and install it correctly.  Do not let it drain down to 0 Volts more than two times.  It will last a long time.

The question is !! Are the batteries the same.  Just because something is made by the same manufacturer doesn't necessarily mean they are the same.  Like company "A" may have certain specs they must be made by and company "B" may use specs that are cheaper or are seconds. A friend of mine is a spot buyer he feels if it looks good if must be good but many times he finds it is China junk.  So my point is if it is in the same case is the internal quality the same or in this case is it .

I am/was a Diehard Sears battery fan...their quality has gone down hill bad...they now have a platinum battery were the gold was their best...I have replaced three this year...I'm done...one of the things they changed was the amount of acid in the battery...now they just burn up here in the Florida heat.  Its Interstate for me going forward...now the best you can buy!!!

I've had Yuasas last 7 and 8 years. You can find them on the web, do a search and compare prices.  The important thing is to charge them properly (slow charge with a "smart" charger) after you install the electrolyte but before you put them in service. Don't assume the alternator will do the job well enough.

If the Die Hard M/C batteries are anything like their car batteries.....they are junk.  Same with WalMart M/C batteries.  Put one in each of my 2 Valks (walmart) and both never made it to the 2 year mark.  I am back with the best...Yuasa.  They last 7 - 9 years.
