Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

What have you been running with a DS tire? I am a new Ds'er and my Metz front is getting alittle worn. It has been on for over 2 rear tire changes. It will make most of the summer but want to change it before Sturgis. I've always had Metz and like them alot. Was wonder if there are better/ cheaper options around. Unless $150 seems about right for fronts. My Metz felt 'slippery' in WY as I would hit some tar snakes in curves. Hankook rear.

Metzler is the only front tire I have run since I found them.

I like that extra rubber on the ground with a Metz.

They get low on tread and yes, they can and will slip around some.....

AND, so will the others........

Longevity issues aside, I don't think any tire made for Valk sticks better in all weather and on painted surfaces than the ME880 (42-3 psi front) (and my boards are beat up on the edges).  And the fronts go a long way (as you note, about two rears).  During the two years or so Metz offered the promotion, I ordered two rears and got two fronts for free (and shipping).   When the last Metz rear goes, I'll have two bikes with Goodyear TT rears and Metz fronts.

I thought it might be interesting to try a different darkside rear on the 2d bike, but as I am a darkside newguy, I suppose it best to have the same tire for  consistency.

Otherwise, an Altima HP.

I love Metz tires but they don't seem to last long for me. I'm running a new Cobra
front now and I like it. Not sure if it's as sticky as the Metz, but if I get more miles
out of it I'll probably get another one.

Avon Venom works great for front with darkside, when its worn out will go with the Cobra.

I'm running a cobra on the front and an HP Altimax on the rear. It seems to be a good combo.
