Yep, still have the Yoko on it.  Starting to show like it will need to be replaced fairly soon.

Sorry to jump in on this thread but could you shed some light on your tour pac installation. Who makes the trunk and what mount did you use?

I keep seeing your pic and always think how I would like to do the same.

I would appreciate any info you could give me.

Thanks

It's a Harley leather tour pak.  They make it in several different versions....with studs, without, etc.  The one I got (the studded one) is the one they make to match the Harley Heritage bike.  Don't remember the model number, but it's not too hard to find.

Here.......I found the model number......

http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/tour-pak-luggage---heritage

The best price I found it for was on ebay.....just over $500 new.  Yeah.....I reeeeaaaaaaaly wanted it.   Cheesy  Bought it early last fall when I was stocking up parts for the big remodel this last winter.  You can usually find some used ones listed on ebay or craigslist for cheaper.

It doesn't come with a lock, but there are several different folks that make a lock set for it.

http://www.inertiawrx.com/vid_tour.htm

I mounted it on the "Valkyrie chromed lazer cut carrier" from Big Bike Things.

http://www.bigbikethings.com/Page3.html

It was about 80 bucks when I ordered it last year, but I see it's up to 125 now.  Still cheaper than ordering all of the parts to make an IS trunk mount.

I thought about finding a good used Interstate trunk mount and using that to mount the tour pak on, but with trying to find a good used one in good shape, or buying one from Pinwall off of ebay and still having to reburb that.....for 80 bucks, it made since to me to just go with the one from Big Bike Things.  It's big and wide and is a perfect fit to mount the tour pak on.......and can still come off with just four bolts.

The tour pak unbolts from the rack simple enough too.  I used these cap screw/bolts when I first mounted it, but have since changed them out for some stainless button head bolts.

I even put some led's on it.  Had to mod it a little with some angle from Home Depot to make a tad more room to mount the leds, but no one will ever see it with the led's mounted on it.

Got the leds here.....

http://www.bigrigchromeshop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=BRCS/PROD/STRIPL/UP39306

They'll work as a run light, or as a run & brake light if you wire them that way.  The ones on the side I wired them just as a run light.....the one on the rear is wired as a run & brake.  They're very bright.   cooldude  I ran them to a plug under the seat so I can take the trunk off and ride it as solo bagger if I want.

ChrisJ CMA saw them the other night at bike night.  For an unbiased opinion, PM him....he can tell ya what he thought of them.

As a side note......the back rest I've got on it ain't the stock one from Harley that comes on it.  I put a Corbin backrest on it that Corbin makes for the tour pak.

http://www.corbin.com/accessories/503.shtml

It's pretty spendy also, but yeah.......I reeeeeaaaaaaaly wanted it.     Cheesy  Wanted it for two reasons mostly......more comfort for the wife......it's alot wider, is curved some and sits a little taller than the HD stock one.  The wife says she likes it way better than the one from Harley that came on it.  The other reason....it doesn't say Harley on it anywhere.   Smiley

Rude Dog,

Excellent job on the sissy bar, along with the rest of the bike, very nice. You are not going to see a bike like that too often.

Could you give me some info on your heel/toe shifter. My luck it's probably no longer available.

Thanks

I have a Yokohama also (Avis H4S).  I rides good, handles good, and grips good...

But, it wears fast.  I have about 20K miles on it, and it'll likely need replacing around 25K.

I'm debating something different next time around... but I do like it as it is.
