Shinko SE890 Journey Touring Radial‏

I know there have been some issues with the Shinko 747/757 series tires and they were recalled.... BUT, I am wondering if anyone is using or has used the newer Shinko SE890 Journey Touring Radial‏.   I contacted the Street Product Manager and asked if these have received any negative feedback similar to the 747/757 series tires and he indicated that the 890 is similar in tread design to the 757.  Also, that Shinko changed the mfr process of the 890 which seems to have eliminated the issues that the 747/757 had.

Does anyone have any real world info on these tires..... prices seem very reasonable compared to others of course.

As a matter of fact i do to the tune of around 2300 miles on the front. Liking everything about it up to this point in time. Have YET to run it in the rain. The dry handling is as good as the Metzler 880 i took off. Hope this helps you. RIDE SAFE.

Assuming you don't have one on the rear??    Well I don't usually make it a point to go out in the rain... but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do.... so that info would be nice too.    Metzlers do handle well dry or wet, but wear out very quickly IMO (probably due to soft tire compound).

D/S rear. Got 14454 miles out of the Metz. I usually won't leave in the rain but have been caught out in it a time or 3.  Living in the southern Ozarks i have access to some nice twisty roads and have yet to have the front slide out on debris free surface. Even a little sand and gravel on the asphalt or concrete is reasonably controllable. I'm also running the Dyna beads in front and rear. The one i have is H speed rated and i have pushed up to the buck and a quarter range a time ot two and felt very comfortable with it. So far as i can tell up to this point in time the tire is very well behaved. Wish i could say the same fer myself. RIDE SAFE.
