got a call from a friend who manages a large multi million dollar ranch here in the sun valley area.. the owner who has waaay too much money is old and his health is failing.. sooo this may be his last time he makes it to the ranch..soo what was needed was a wheel chair ramp that went up the 4 steps into his bedroom.. the owners daughters words were "tell him I dont care what it costs we need it done today.. so off to the shop.. welded up a tube frame and covered it with a sheet of 3/4 AC plywood. but heres where the cool product come in.. I bought a qt. of solid body stain as it needs no primer and found a jar of ground up walnut shells that is made to mix with pain and creates GREAT TRACTION.. had used sand before but this stuff is THE BOMB.. would be great for trailer decks or boat decks too.. if ya need some traction..check it out.. forgot to mention his mode of transport is a Gulfstream IV... NOW what to charge?? hmmmmm

Ive heard that you have to be aware of any allergies if you use this as a blasting media.... IMHO some of the problems using sand are abrasion and you can stretch the metal and cause wrinkles, the walnut is softer and less likely to cause problems.  Someone better versed in metal prep and repair could add lots of better info.

The blaster we use, uses plastic pieces.    He used to use walnut shells, but like the plastic stuff better.

I'm just relaying on what he has said, so don't kill the messenger.
