What does the data say?

Corinth, Texas

« on: July 02, 2012, 09:18:20 PM »

It's taken a year, but the Jet bike doesn't look like a Gypsy caravan anymore with different color parts hanging off it.

The color looks a little washed out because of the lighting.  It's actually pretty close to Chrome Yellow.

Thanks, everyone.

Yes, there will probably be pinstriping in the future.  There's a lot of unadorned landscape there -- kind of like Kansas.

Actually, I have a yellow helmet that matches.

Rignt now I've got tentative plans to come through on the last day of Inzane as part of a trip through Colorado and the Dakotas.

For those that don't know, this bike belonged to Howie "The Jet" and was yellow when I got it, but I added the hard bags and had the fairing hanging in the garage, so I got them painted to match as close as possible to the pearlescent yellow that's on the fenders and tank.

Very nice.

I always thought the Dallas Dart buss yellow was very attractive.
I wonder what that yellow is called?

Am I seeing a reflection or is that a nicely shaped pinstripe on the side cover? Pretty color.

RD, the pin stripes are from the previous paint.  Only the faring and bags were painted.  Needs pinstripes to match the existing ones.  Smiley

Those are Howiefications.  They're off an '98 Aspencade, black wrinkle finish coated, then the coat was removed from the detail lines and the "1500" relief with a milling machine.

I work with a guy thats doing some powdercoating on the side, he did my covers with the crinkle , out of Boyd . But Im kind of partial to that area.. Maybee they will complete all this road construction around here someday and I can change my handle name!!

It is a pretty good match.  I took a side cover to Color Services in Denton and they spent about 45 minutes matching the color.

Hadn't thought about a wrinkle-finish timing cover.  This one is in too nice of shape to do that to, but if I could find a beat up one to experiment on...
