Several years ago we had the sailboat up on Broken Bow lake for the 4th. There was supposed to be a big fireworks display set up on a small island in the middle of the lake. Similar story. They were set up in a cove on the other side of the island from me. It looked like Apocalypse Now. I can still see the trees silhouetted by the burning phosphorus. It was a real good show for about 45 seconds. I could see guys jumping in the water, trying to escape the burning island. The lake was so full of boats, it looked like a lake of fireflies. I could see about 3 emergency boats with revolving lights headed toward the island and every other boat turned in the oposite direction.
Fortunately, I later learned learned that nobody was hurt.
