Bought a 2003 Valkyrie last week with factory exhaust. I want to put the cobra 6 into 6 exhaust on the bike. Does anyone know if I will have to get the carbs rejetted?

My 98 is not rejetted,...but it does have the baffles installed.

All bikes are just a bit different, but if your not going to run baffles, then you may want to install adjustable carb needles.

Had cobras on mine, a little burbly at low speed, but ran fine and sounded like a porsche on steroids with stock jets...I did return to the oem pipes. The older I get the less noise I seem to like.

No, and Yes.

I had a 97 and had Cobra's on it for about 5 years.  It ran fine, and never had any issues.  Its still running strong, but with a different set of pipes now.  On most occasions you will lose a few HP when you install them, and if you want to regain that power, you'll need to do some jetting.  I really couldn't tell any difference, seat of the pants.

If it were me and I wanted that specific exhaust for the look or sound, I'll install them and never look back.

Too bad you don't live down the street, I'd swap out my Cobras and jets for your stockers....

I have cobras on my 2003. I love them but had a flat spot in accel at about 3800 rpm and rejetted with a cobra adj needle kit. Cure it. Only thing I do not like abou them is that they dont have ceramic inserts at the front and they all turn blue in time and nothing you can do about it, but I love the sound.

The one below is ceramic coated been that way about 65,000 miles and still looks great.

This one has the header painted with 1500 degree stove paint...Looks much better than blue rust but does need touched up from time to time.

This one has Rivco heater shields ( nolonger made ) and if you find them they will be $$$

I know Joe,, they all look great. Where did you get the ceramic coating? As to the shields, I look for them all the time but they are just outta my reach.
