 Hey All...
I'm getting ready to swap out my stock Can End Covers for some Chrome one's I've got, and need to ask a question.
I know I need to be careful about not messing up the stock gaskets as they need to be re-used, but, when I pull the stock Cam End Covers off, do I need to expect a lot of oil to be behind those covers, just waiting for me to pull em so it can come gushing out onto my engine/tranny?  tickedoff
With the bike leaning on the side stand, I wouldn't expect a lot on the right/high side, but the left/low side? Would I be better off with the bike level, up on the jack/lift? Even being level, up on the lift, won't there be some oil lurking behind those covers, just waiting to escape? Shocked
Thanks to some previous posting, I've already gotten a Harbor Freight MC Lift and have already permanently attached the Lift Adapter under the bike. cooldude
I'm a newbie when it comes to working on my bike, but I'm having a blast learning!
Thanks for all your help, and I'll just wait for any replies.

I did it recently, and wondered the same thing.

I chose to do it while I was changing the oil.

It was easy to keep from messing up the gaskets, and I saw no hint of
oil ever being behind  the covers...

There should be no oil, they are more dust covers than oil seals, and if you ruin the gaskets, they are available at Honda direct.  Hoser
