remembering.  Several years ago, we (DFW VRCC) took a senic ride out in the Jacksboro, Tx. area.  We broke into two groups--a fast group and a slow group.

Can anyone remember what rode(s) we were on?  All I remember is that it was out by Jacksboro.

Thanks

I don't remember it specifically, but the rides I planned to that area took us out on 199 from Fort Worth to Jacksboro, then down  Highway 4 from Jacksboro down to I-20 for those who wanted to head back and on to Lipan for others.

This is it!

They didn't mention the great place to STOP for PIE between Hwy180 and "Lake Palo Pinto Reservoir". Also the road around the south side off the lake is real scenic with a few blind hairpin curves. Either take it twice going east and then back to 4 or it takes you to Fm 919 just north of Gordon.

When are you/we going? I can meet y'all in Jacksboro! cooldude cooldude

Keep me posted.  Who knows, I might be able to hook up with you for a bit.   Hiway 4 is a pretty good ride.   I recommend a cutover to Mary's cafe in Strawn if you have time also.

Just watch the turns climbing the hill south of Palo Pinto, I rounded one of them one day, and a tractor with a large plow had the complete road in his possession.  I am glad I was just taking my time!!!

Thanks guys.  Now that I know what roads to take, maybe I can make some plans.

Any of you are welcome to join me, but I have to warn you that Chauffer has my Valk now, and I am riding a Suzuki Boulevard C50 (815 cc).

Still a Valk rider at heart, but my body said no more  Cry
