Both when coming to a stop and then accelerating I get a very strong smell of gasoline. The bike is running normal with no noticeable change in MPG. It was so strong on the last outing, I stopped to check for gas leaks. Couldn't find anything, even when I got her back in the barn. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks~

Intake o rings.... Might old and leaking.  Mine were. Also check all the intake clamps. They can be loose and cause it. I'll bet it's the intake o rings.

I checked the clamps. . .  all of them were loose, one was about to fall off. Great tip. Haven't taken it for a test ride yet, but I'm thinking that was the problem  cooldude

(Gas cap checks out ok)

If the intake o-rings leak is it a visible leak?  Can you usually see gas?  Thanks

Generally when intake o-rings wear out, you can see a kind of a tobacco colored
stain around the bases of the intakes with the worn out o-rings. Mine were that way.

I'm not sure what would happen if they were so failed that liquid was leaking out, but
you'd probably know (blindfolded) that something was wrong...

Order the kit from Red Eye..... was like 6 bucks or something....And he will have them in the mail right away (had mine in 2 days regular mail)...... it is an easy fix to replace.... maybe take 30 min unless you have an I/S- taking off the pods will take longer...

All you have to do is loosen the clamp on the top of the intake tube and the 2 screws ay the bottom... kinda push em up a bit and pull forward- them pop right out...... replace the o ring and reverse the order yo replace.....

Mine were all leaking, but only showed the dark spot on one of them , but there was gas all under and outside the O ring......

The o rings were visibly flattened and distorted...... EASY FIX!

Gas smell happened to me once. Pushed on the gas cap and heard it click. Gas smell went away. Evidently, I did not close it all the when I got gas.

Brad; was there any noticable change in performance and/or mpg? Just wondering. Everything appears ok, but I'll check everything out when I return from out west.
