Hello guys, have to excuse my ignorance - I'm a relatively new Valk owner with a recently purchased 99 F6 Standard. Absolutley love the bike, but find it somewhat quiet with the OEM pipes. Was considering changing over to the cobra pipes, but can't seem to get a straight answer as to wether or not the carbs need to be re-jetted; local honda dealer wants nearly $600 in labour alone for the re-jet, others say it is not necessary......does anyone have a definitive answer?
What's the general consensus on just drilling out the baffles on the stock pipes as an alternative?
Thanks for the help!
Cobra 6 into 6 look and sound good BUT most herehave found that rejetting was necessary as well as the fact that since the Cobra pipes are not of equal length you will have uneven backpressure and a reduction in overall HP! Just want you to see the negatives as well as the positives Before you buy them.

As far as the drilling out of the baffles go, why not just install a set of glasspacks? They sound good, don't need rejetting and actuallly provide a few extra ponies instead of reducing HP?
