My nut under the fender is stripped (6x20 I believe). Can I just put a nut on it w/a longer bolt or can it be retapped for a larger bolt? I cant tell what material the nut is without some disassmbly.

well id consider a retap. longer bolts and nuts tend to hit tires. the other option could be a shallow panhead bolt from the inside with a nut on the top.

I put a nut under mine, works fine.  I always split the fender when I remove the rear tire.  Hoser
