Brand new cobras already showing signs of bluing. tickedoff Less than 50 miles on them. The OEM pipes were also blued and the bike only has 4k miles. Is this running too rich? Seems like I smell gas and around town running is boggy. The carbs were rebuilt by Honda just before I bought the bike as previous owner thought the throttle response was not great (had OEM pipes at the time).

Oem pipes should never blue. If they do you have a mixture problem. How do the plugs look?

If the bike stays running with the choke / enrichening / circuit engaged , after a short time, is not a good sign.  Shocked  T.B.R. head pipes blue also. Smiley

Take it back to the dealer who did the carb work. Sumptin ain't right. Shouldn't smell gas or have blued pipes.

I have seen the Cobra headers painted flat black. They looked better black than the blue gold. Smelling gas is not good.
