 A friend of mine has 2 of these knife,s and is wanting to sell them after looking at them realized they are out of my league of what there value is. So if anyone can point me to a honest person or site to help determine fair value. I can get more pictures and info. Thanks !!!

You might try a gun show or pawn shop for value.... course an interested buyer will try to lowball.

I acquired a very similar one myself recently, not quite as nice as your pic. I spent an hour or so googling info, I was just satisfying curiosity as I don't want to sell it.
There were several manufacturers and styles of these, value varies among them.

The small one is a German S.S. dagger (worth over $1000.)  I had sold a S.S. sword many years ago for $800. and they are not as rare as the daggers. Tell him to be careful and not list it on e-bay because it is concidered a hate-crime weapon and he will be banned from e-bay. It looks to be in good shape, so he might want to do some research on it.

I looked at a bunch of knife pictures without finding anything similar, until Terry
made his post... then I found that you can get "reproductions" of that knife
for $24 on Amazon, and this picture of some stuff that a guy's grandfather
brought back from WWII... probably worth a bunch of money...



I'm told my father brought this beer (gin?) stein back

it is not an SS dagger it is a Luftwaffe (airforce) officer's dagger 2nd pattern. dagger's value approx $5-700.00  the hanger is worth an additional $225 or so. i see it also has the troddel with it (the knotted cord attached to the grip) this is worth an additional $75.00

the photograph of the daggers on the flag has an actual SS dagger at the bottom, it is black mounted with a SS eagle inset in the grip with engraving on the blade that translates to: "my honor is loyalty" SS daggers are worth considerably more due to rarity and notoriety. i used to do WWII militaria for a living.

oh yah, the brown mounted one with the party eagle on it is a SA dagger (the brownshirts) standard engraving slightly less than the luft dagger, if it still has Ernst Rohm's name engraved on the blade it's worth 2-3 tames as much.

The Stein is not for beer but Schnapps -> German "Schnaps" - or in this particular case a "Steinhäger", which is a a spirit flavoured with juniper berries (which are depicted on this bottle as well). The name is derived from the village of Steinhagen in North Rhine-Westphalia, which is the only place where it is permitted to be produced.
Nice piece - and if the bottle is still full and the seal intact it could be well worth some money.

BTW: If you would show the below pictures with the swastika (German "Hakenkreuz") in a german forum you could be in trouble pretty soon.

Free countries - yes, good thing.
But with the historic burden on their shoulder's, I understand that they don't want having anything related to that shameful past shown in public other than in a museum or sold, traded or so.

your right wolf, but when they control what i can offer on Ebay(an American company) for sale in the USA, I'm offended.  in fact the Cheese eating surrender monkeys (french) do most of the complaining.

Thanks for the dagger info, (I was off base...again )
I had found my S.S. sword under a trunk mat of a car I had traded on, and did some light research about it....this was many years ago. I think the swords go for about double the $800. now.
