We are starting to put together the plans for the Missouri Fall Colors Ride 2012.  The dates are October 12-14.  It will be held in Cuba, MO.  The tentative Saturday Ride is Missouri Fall Colors Ride 2012.  It is 170 miles of Missouri nice roads which will include a small jaunt on Historic Route 66 and a stop in Devils Elbow, MO.  Lunch will be at the Elbow Inn and BBQ in Devils Elbow.  Saturday evening will include grub and socializing.

Check your calendars and plan to attend.  The hotel information will follow soon.

Please post on this thread so we can get a count of how many will be coming and so you can be notified with updates.

Excellent Ride and Route  :cooldude:

Wish I could make it but, just too many other demands on my time and dollars.   :(

But, here's a bump for the cause.  Should be a great ride.  Enjoy, take and share the pics with those of us that can't make it.

Thanks for getting the word out Joe. I've heard good things about the Devils Elbow Inn and the ridding in that area of the state. And thanks MoLee for working on the route. We have had a good showing the last couple of years. I will again extend that I can be available on before or after the weekend for anyone wanting to come in early. We have three Motorcycle museums in St.Louis the best of the three is only open Mon thru Fri. Then there is some incredible riding. Anyone with any questions feel free to contact me .

Just got off the phone with Gita from the Best Western in Cuba Mo. I reminded her who the group was and how they had extended a group rate for us and that we would prefer the rooms at one end near the lot beind the hotel so we would not disturb anyone should we be up late again. She said no problem. Same as last time. So here is a link to the hotel info. Be sure to mention that you are with the VRCC fall color ride and that we had a block of rooms. Again if there is any problems please shoot me a PM

I just booked my room.  Group rate is $74 a night for either a King or double room (same as last year).  If you came to last year's ride, mention that to them.  It will make the process go much smoother because they will have your address in their system.

Thanks a ton for setting this up Chip!!  Let me know what you need help with and I will gladly help out.

I have to work that weekend, but would like to show up for evening festivities. I can bring a fire pit again. Won't stay late as I have to be at work by 6am.
Chip are you doing food again? We can buy bulk meat from Missouri Hick BBQ in Cuba and just do sides.

Mike R

Looking forward to it, reservations are made.

well, i booked my room.
then hung up with the feeling that everthing had just gone way way wrong... The lady that i spoke too did not know very much, and did not want much more than my credit card information... I kept asking if she had me with the valkyrie riders, and once it was yes, then no, then we will move you all together later.

now its time to just pray it was not as bad as i thought.

I've been getting back into 5k races and other events lately. Having a hard time keeping up with these college girls. Gotta do something to get back into shape. I've been working on getting in shape for this race for some time now. 11 miles and obstacles sounds is something I've never even concurred in my mind. Even in my distance running high school days. Hoping I'll be ready in time...  :cooldude: :cooldude:

Hi, I just purchased a 97 Valkyrie about a month ago (LOVE IT!) and am new to this great website, and new to these type of rides. My wife and I are interested in attending this event. What time will the ride start start Saturday morning? We live about 45 minutes from Cuba, so wont be staying in the hotel, but would like to participate. Thanks.

Starting to look like I may be able to make it after all, however not sure if the wife will be over her jet lag in time to ride along.

On my little sojourn yesterday from what i was able to see you could/should be getting some decent colors on that ride you have planned. I went U S 60 W to spgfld then I-44 E to Rolla and U S 63 S to the house. Just a slight hint of change and hoping the rain made for a good change. I on the other hand will be playing roady for the Willow Springs Mo. High School Marching Band. Hope ya'll have a great ride.  :cooldude: RIDE SAFE.

I look forward to seeing you all again and meeting some for the first time. Sharkey you had offered to bring your burn pit and some fire wood, I think we should take you up on that. Joe, I would agree 0930 Sat.would be a good time for Kick Stands Up. I have been really tied up with the AMVET riders recently and have not been able to do as much as I would have liked to help pull this ride together. Looks like others have stepped up and helped to make this ride as good as the last couple.  If there is anyone out there that will be coming and has not responded on the forum please send JoeValkIS or myself a PM so we can get a close number on the people attending.

With just two weeks to go until "The Mo Fall Colors Ride", I'm seeing some colors in the leaves. This weeks forcast is a daytime high in the mid 70s, with nights falling into the 50s. Hopfully that will continue through the 14th. JoeValkIS and myself will be doing a preride tommorrow, double checking everything. Just a reminder for any one interested I have or can have Fri the 12th off of work if any riders would like to come in a day early and check out any of our three motorcycle museums and some of our best roads or whatever you may find interesting I would be glad to spend Fri doing the same. Just let me know a little in advance.  :cooldude:

DDT (12)

JoeValk,

It was a win-win either way, but still a tough call... Missouri or Texas. I like both, and my riding partner does too. In the end, however, we've both been to Texas more, and he favors Missouri this time. So, we've made reservations at ground zero and figure to arrive sometime Friday afternoon... assumng two guys from Bama would be welcome.

Po & Painter,

Glad to see you all will be there... lookin' forward to kickin' some tars with y'all. Tell Reb not to worry about his PBR going undrunk... I'm confident there will be more'n enough good hearted souls to make sure none of his goes to waste...
