I was waiting for that. I'm surprised you didn't say it was only worth 3000.

why don't you go play somewhere else? you may think your bike is big bucks and that's fine. but when it comes time to buy one you'll be looking at the actual evidence listed here rather than fantasy prices concocted by people who actually think a motorcycle newer that 30 years old is an investment. and damn few older than that can qualify also. i buy 3-5 of the old girls a year and put them out of their misery for parts. i've never paid more than $5000 for an running driving interstate and $3000 for a standard. hell the bike i ride i bought in 99 for $3250.00 and that was 432,000 miles ago

Prices are different in different parts of the country. Here on the west coast (CA-WA), you don't find a low mile in good shape for less than $6000 usually. Interstates are usually $7000 or more. Granted I haven't been following prices for more than a year, but the prices are what they are around here. If the prices are going up, that isn't a bad thing. I know mine is a keeper, and most who own a Valkyrie feel the same way about theirs. As more become permanent parts of peoples collections, and others get wrecked and taken apart, the supply will be (is) going down. If supply goes down, and demand stays the same or goes up, the prices will go up as well. No, I'm not looking at mine as an investment either, just saying.

daddie-o: your correct concerning prices. the problem is as the bike gets older fewer and fewer people even know what it is, let alone have an interest in purchasing one. i have 4 sets of cobra light bars still in the package sitting in my storage along with 2 sets of cobra radiator sides. they will not be for sale for 15-20 years from now. that is an investment, the bikes themselves were mass produced and exist in vast numbers with very low miles, they can still be had for a dime a dozen and will be available at that price for 4-6 more years before they start to climb. don't expect an interstate to climb above $10,000 for the next 18 years or so, standards will rise to $6-7,000 4-6 years from now and tourers will always settle a little less than 1/2 way in between. this is reality, not anyone's biased pie-in-the sky wish.

I agree mostly about how Valkyries can be bought cheap, sometimes with low miles... if I was buying a Valkyrie, though, there's a purple one tuned up by that Attic-Rat dude for $7,500 that would be at the top of my list. The the cost of the bike isn't the only variable in the equation, the color, how awesome it runs and whether or not it already has the unobtanium you like should count too. -Mike "don't know if the Attic-Rat bike is still available..."

I know this seller, and have done business with him before, and he recently had a mishap with this Valk, and is looking to sell it. It is the Bike my Batwing came off of, and the bike overall looked to be in decent shape. http://rochester.craigslist.org/mcy/3888654947.html

wow, 3K or best offer, even with 65K miles is a steal if the new paint job is decent. Come in at 2500 and you got a deal too bad is near 1000 miles away.
