I have some corrosion on the front my triple tree that I want to get rid of... I have a bud that works with aircraft parts who told me to go over it with aluminum wool and then put a clearcoat on it.. anyone have any idea what clearcoat is used on this?

I cant say from clearcoat but I had mine polished, and it looks better then a piece of chrome.
Local plating guy did it for 30$$$

I'm interested as well.  Tons of pitting on my triple tree, and rather than buy another, would rather refurb where cost effective and possible.
