I know the conversions do not work very well. They sell either a replacement bulb which has low beam HID and high beam halogen (I bought one), a real HID whole headlight replacement ($$$$), or a bulb which contains a small motor and moves the metal inside the shell back and forth from high to low (Seems rather fragile and easily thwarted to me). THe low beam on the first one worked GREAT, however switching to high them seems like the light went out. I own the second type ($500) but it will not fit in the stock Valkyrie shell. I bought a different shell, which works, but I have to have a bracket fabricated so it works on the Valkyrie forks in place of the stock headlight. I will let you know when and if I get it rigged. From others, I have heard this is an awesome amount of light. I've never tried the little motor bulb.

old xenon bulbs only had a single beam. so for H4 only one could be xenon, the other halogen. right now there are mechanical bulbs that will move the element in and out to emulate high and low beams., im running a H4 bixenon bulb on my GL1200 and works pretty well on the old case. its a lie that xenon wont work on old reflectors. it works like a regular halogen bulb. is just brighter.

also there are two kits, 35W and 55W. im runnig 35W kit on my goldwing and the charging system runs better because the 35Watts draw is only on the startup. then it drops to around 28-30.

legal or not?.

it works as a regular bulb. installed correctly it wont blind incoming cars and you wont be noticed unless you go for exotic colors. 6000k bulb is pure white and you can only tell its xenon when it starts up, unless you mess with the bulbs shields you wont be noticed or will bother other people.

Quite a few years back I went with something called Silver Streak or something along that line......

At the time it was noticeably brighter.  Then I added my 100W driving lights and I haven't looked back...  If they say they can't see me now, then I say they best open their eyes instead of driving with them shut.....
