« on: September 11, 2012, 05:57:33 AM »

Browsing through E-Bay this morning, I came across a seller that has a listing for the 1:6 scale Valkyrie model. New, Unopened, Mint Condition. Listing says more than 10 available. Price is $49.99.  Cheesy
That's less than half what I paid for mine!   tickedoff
I posted the link and a pic in the Classified forum. Just posting here for all the Valkaholics that never check out the classifieds. I know how hard these are to find!
(i am not the seller, not affiliated, ect.)

Here's the original manufacturer web site.

http://www.motormaxtoy.com/categories/die-cast-motorcycle-collection/1-6-motorcycle-collection/honda-valkyrie-2/

I'm really suprised to see this Ebay auction.

I bought 30 of these bikes years ago and resold them. Since then they have been out of stock. I periodically email the manufacturer to see if there's been a new production run.

I am surprised it hasn't been pulled yet.

Sorry. My bad. Undecided
I didn't know we're not supposed to link to stuff on e-bay.  angel
As I said in the original post, it wasn't my auction, I'm not affiliated in any way and I don't know the person selling them. So there wasn't any free advertising for me.
I just thought some people here might appreciate finally being able to get one of the large Valkyrie Models. They do seem to be rather scarce and we are a Valk group. Logical, no?  Spock let me down again!  tickedoff
Just to clarify, we can post links to CL and parts suppliers, but not EB?
I do apologize. Won't happen again.
I'll go tie myself to a tree now and await my 50 lashes  2funny
Guess I'll finally get around to reading the posting rules!   Cheesy

Whaaaaaat? There have been plenty of ebay links here. I just reviewed the "Rules of the Road" and don't see anything there. Not to mention that the item is a BuyItNow fixed sales price.

Just went to the classifieds section and read the rules.
Found this as the next rule on that list   2funny
*No links to items you found on Craigslist(Or other internet/print classifieds).  The purpose of our classifieds is for members to list their items for sale, trade, or even wanted.  This is not the place to post something you found on Craigslist or other classifieds areas.

  How bout this....
If anyone wants one of the 1:6 scale Honda Valkyrie Diecast Models, PM me and I'll send you the link, or you can go there yourself and find it. There's also another batch of 8 at the same site, even cheaper.

This whole thing reminds me of a VRCC forum post I just read

Knew I couldn't be the only one that liked em.
Got mine a few months ago, from Australia, and with the shipping, it was over twice what these are going for. Still glad I got it though!
I still git a smile when I look at mine and think about the full size sittin` in the garage, just waitin` for me!

I ordered one also, thanks. I understand the issue with links to auctions, but I don't see a problem with posting a link to a "good deal" that might be of interest to many. If I find any $50 U-joints I am letting everyone know!

You know. . . . . I don't come here that often anymore, but for some reason I clicked on it today and I saw this post. HAHA! I ran accross a 'batch' of these (ok, 2 of them) a few years ago at a little shop, in a tourist town up north, tucked out of sight in back corner. They were $49.oo each and I told my bride they were WAY overpriced. I went back a few months later and of course; they were sold! I've kicking myself every since because I have a perfect spot in the ManCave-East (garage) for one! So, yeah, I ordered one just now! Thanks for the 'heads-up' my friend! Good looking out!

Trimbrwolf, now THAT is a sweet little arrangment! On your deck? I love the big 'shrome' house! HAHA! Someone took our old Gnome out of our flower bed this spring, soon after I put it out! A stupid teen in the hood probably has a room full of them now! I think I'm going to keep the new 'Valk' in the Garage though!

I hope things are going well for you folks up there in the northwoods. We're hoping to hook up with one of the groups this year for a color tour . . .  I've been trying to get hold of Gary over here in Grand Rapids, but lost his e-mail. Who knows? We may just run up north solo. It's just nice being able to ride again! And, one of these years we'll meet in T.C. - or somewhere - and I'll buy you guys a burger! BTW - That GREAT BBQ place near the Bay in TC CLOSED! Grrr! Man, I loved that place!

Question for those that have received their purchases:  How long from purchase to receipt?

Just curious, yeah I'm one of those that don't have a lot of confidence in internet sellers.

I ordered mine on 9/11, and it just came today...

Of course, I suspect it would have been here much quicker, but the fact that it's a slow black one probably held it up for several extra days...
