The best advise I can give you is to take pictures and organize your dis assembly ( I did not do this!). I tore into mine, uncertain whether I would have to replace the engine or whether it would ever run again, and really did not take my time. I did not order parts until after I tore everything open, and with the delay of getting parts and only having weekends available, it was a few weeks before I put her back together. It worked out for me, and I hope I never have to do it again, but I wish I had taken a few pictures and carefully labeled bolts and parts as I took them off.

Good luck! You will get a lot of satisfaction from doing this job, I know I did. My neighbors who saw the parts and pieces spread all over my garage think I am The Man.

Maybe at that price you want to check Pinwall they have a block for 99.00 you could take the parts off it.

You'll also need a deep 36mm for the output shaft to get the rear case off. Check your manual. I lengthened a Craftsman 2".

Good luck.

Mine's dis-assembled, waiting for parts. Thought I had everything, but the bearing that one of the gears presses into was damaged also and I didn't catch it until I was all the way in there.

I did it to mine.  If you have a digital camera, take pictures.  They will guide you through the process of putting it back together.  I had one small bolt leftover when I got mine back together and still don't know where it goes.  I have about 6000 miles on it since and so far, so good.  There are a bunch of "o" rings that you will find when you tear it down.  I would recommend that you replace all of them.

I ordered parts that I needed to order and that I was able to see needed to be replace. Trying to save a little time, I am sure I will need to order more. I also ordered a new Honda fuel valve and an inline electric fuel shut off valve. Hope that this will take care of this problem. I want to thank you for telling me to take pictures as I go. Any other  suggestions out there?

As you can see, I had to replace my rear case.  Check your gears VERY carefully.  At first glance they may seem okay but really they aren't.  Check the pic.  The first one is not real obvious.

STEP BY STEP -- STEP BY STEP--STEP BY STEP -- STEP BY STEP--STEP BY STEP -- STEP BY STEP

I have found that over the years these projects tend to get interupted and even the best of plans get interupted. My suggestion is to have all the tools ready, have the correct attitude and keep a digital camera handy. There is nothing worse than not having the right tool or trying to pick back up after a few days and wondering, "where was I and where does this go?" Here is a Step by STep Photos included by LadyDrako that I think that you will find useful. Oh and have a few cold ones ready at the end of your work!  cooldude http://www.far-riders.com/albums/thumbnails.php?album=68&page=1
