I have the bike back together.  When I went to put the push rod in and then the slave cylinder.  The push rod does not bottom out.  It goes all the way to the seal.  I put the splined rod in as well.
Anyone have any suggestions?  O

Do you have the service manual?

It's pretty detailed on the clutch area and the manual is free from Dag.

Hard to imagine doing that kind of work without a manual.

Did you put the square plate back on the rear of the clutch, the one with 4 bolts and a bearing in the center.

Hey Grumpy.
Yeah I put the plate back in place.   I got her back together and she seems to be ready to purr.  I am gonna put oil in her tomorrow morning and give her a test ride.  Took my time with her today because it rained the whole time.  So if I got her back running I'd want to test it in the rain.  So I took my time with her and did a few needed checks and balances.

We'll see how she does tomorrow.  But thanks for the reminder.   cooldude

The only thing pushing that clutch pin from the slave cylinder is a tiny clip on the shaft.  I was amazed that was all there is to it.  It fits inside the small taper if the bearing on that plate Grumpy mentioned.

We had to remove the cover on the clutch master cylinder and suck out some fluid so the slave cylinder would bolt back up to the back of the engine.

Wonder what your situation was?

Mine I am sure is that I did not compress the slave cylinder all the way in when all was said and done.  I kept looking at the clutch instead of the slave cylinder.  When replacing the cylinder, it would not snug up and there was a quarter of an inch gap.  Finally reclamped it and that is when it went in.  Talk about mud in your face feeling.
