Early Bird in the house.

Had to swim from about La Grange to home.  Came across several 'frog stranglers'.  Water running across the road splashing up from front wheel knocked my feet off of the foot pegs several times.  Don't remember that happening before.

When I actually got home, it had not rained at my house, though it did start up shortly thereafter.

We just got in from Lafayette. We ended up with 505 miles and a large time at our mini swampfest. The market screwed up our boudain order so we came home empty handed. We sampled three different boudain places today and the stuff we get from market basket is still the best to us. We also viisted steamboat bills for some gumbo and fried shimp while in Lake Charles. We will make a day run soon to get about 50 lbs but only after a talk with the manager. Glad the weather worked out for ya'll and wish we would have been with you.

Took the sweepers of 219 and discovered Tac Pro Shooting Center (add .com to the name) on 108 that somehow I've missed before.  Looks interesting. 1000 yard range Disco! Finished up going across Palo Pinto Lake and into the mess.

Great time with everybody!

This is the Market basket in Lake Charles that J.P. aka HARD6 gets his boudin from, this is the same place that I get mine. they told me they make 1300 pounds of it per day, I hope they are not the ones who ran out.

What a FUN weekend!  Great to see old friends and meet some new ones, even as far away as Kentucky they came!  Blackrams, it was good to meet you!   And what a beautiful day to drive home, wish I was ridin' home, made it safe and sound.   Working on photos to post; think we need to do it again real soon!

Snakes, buzzards, scorpions, oh my.

Very well said, sir.
I made it home safe and somewhat sound about 1700.  Great weekend with great friends.  I had a blast.  What and when is next?
But you left home a little un-sound, so all's good, right?

We're all at home and happy here.  Stephanie went north to retrieve the little 'uns, and I headed back the same way I came in, but with a smaller group (just me today).  Had a great time carving up 32 and 12, and relaxed on 90 the rest of the way.  Hit the Houston city limits before 4, but didn't get home until about an hour ago, since we stopped to visit with some other friends on the way.  I saw a lot of rain off in the distance, but I always seemed to turn at just the right time.  Beautiful day, beautiful weekend.  Thanks everybody.

Nora and I got home moments ago.  Went to the Nimitz/Pacific War museum before we left Fredericksburg and then visited some relatives in Dripping Springs before heading north.

The museum was excellent.  I highly recommend it.  Got about half way through it in the 2.5 hrs we were there.

Great weekend folks.  Thanks.

Folks, I had a great time and am thankful for the opportunity.  Wish I could have actually gone of the rides with you and spent more time with ya but, ya know how it is.

Left Fredericksburg at 0400, traveled through one heck of a Texas thunderstorm but, kept the speed down for the first hundred miles or so.  Dog tired by the time I got home, almost 1200 miles in that rig that day, made it home after midnight this AM.  But, it was well worth it, great group of folks.  Thanks for letting me come along.   cooldude

T.P. it is the same place just they dropped the ball. I called them on saturday and they were suppose to freeze 15 lbs for me to pick up sunday and the order didn't it filled. Next time I'll make a second call to make sure they have it done. We sampled boudain from two other placed closer to Lafayette, The Best stop and Dons in Scott and we think the market basket is still the best and it is closer to home. It was still a great trip just no boudain.

That happened to me the last time I passed thru and wanted to get some smoked jalapeno boudin for my riding buds here. I had called ahead the day before, and when I arrived it seemed someone hadn't written down my order.. If I had known that I would have gotten some from Best Stop or Don's. An old friend of mine lives right down the road from there and knows everyone in that area, including the mgr. for that particular Market Basket. I just got off the phone with him,and he will be giving the mgr. a call today.

Thanks for  info. I just next time I'll give them a follow up call before making the trip. If we had been in the car I would have just bought a cooler and iced some down for the trip home but on the bike with luggage we were pressed for space. Thanks again

Mr B, if you're having trouble getting good boudain, try DJ's Boudain, usually sold at Market Baskets. Good stuff, plain, smoked or jalapeno.

Trish and I stopped off in Austin to see our son in college. Got home around 7pm...great ride. Met some great people and had a blast. Really enjoyed seeing all the different things that can be done to a Valk. Got some great ideas. You guys were very welcoming, thanks!
