 I am new to this and would like to know if anybody can tell me the significants of the  2001 CL1500CD painted Blue with the white strip, was it a special that year or what.

Nothing significant other than in 2001, Honda made the Standard in Black, Black with Silver stripe, and Blue with white stripe.  Its not any more rare than the 1997 Purple/White or the Red/White.  Each year Honda made different colors, with a few years overlapping.

We read somewhere (probably on this board) that there were precisely 350 units manufactured in the blue and white paint scheme, all in the model year 2001.  If this is so, then the blue and white is among the most rare.

We trudge on.

I have a 2002 Valk in that color scheme... Willow can testify to that. 

I like it.

I think the most rare one from an unscientific study is the black with the red stripe.  I have never seen one of those in person.
