does anyone know what the capacity of OEM hard bags are compared to the national cycle Cruiseliner  hard bags lately ive seen several prices on ebay for the national cycle hard bags if you shop by bike model say type in valkyrie models the model number is N1101 and they run allmost $ 900.00 bucks but if you search for the same model number using just the model number they drop to $367.08   plus 80 or 90 bucks for mount brackets thats fair but how much smaller are they i guess its in liters anybody have them i think i saw a set on mark ts bike they have quick turn drop releases also or i guess you could mount them with the valkyrie leather bag mounts and not have to deal with the whole OEM hard bag mount system any info would help

I think that someone once posted that the OEM's were about 35 liters or so.  But don't quote me on that.   Wink

36liters is what the advertising said. I never tested them myself. .

The National Cycle hardbags will not even take a DOT half helmet.

IMHO too small and overpriced.

Better off with Tsykayu Strong or Jumbo Strong.

Or a set of the Mustangs like mine.   Wink

so the OEM bags are 36 liters  and the national cycle cruiseliner bags are 32 liters but they dont require all the bulky OEM mounting hardware and come with quick disconnects and can hold allmost the same weight for 400 bucks i havent seen a really good set of OEM for under 800 and most run over a thousand bucks and my bike is black so no paint is needed

Good choice, others have even said Tsukayu bags are thicker than OEMs. Consider the leather strongs to avoid the cost of painting (unless your bike is black) which could you another $250 plus. Probably more. Keep us posted.

The Mustangs are IDENTICAL to the Tsukayu "Quick Release Strongs".

Same locks, hardware and are lined too.

I can't prove it, but I'd bet hard that Mustang contracts out to Tsukayu for the bags and then has their covering put on them.

If you look around on the web, you can find them for about $700 or so.

originals hold one 10Lbs bag of ice and 35 beers, maybe 36 but i've never managed to pass up one for a loaders fee.
