I have a 97 standard and I am going to add risers (Phatriser II) to my bike. They are supposed to give 2.5" of rise and 3" more pullback. Can anyone tell me what length to add for the brake, clutch, and push/pull cables. I know that I can reroute the cables but I would like to change everything to the braided stainless cables and hydraulics. Any help and recomendations would be appreciated. I tied to find the information in tech and archive tech but I am a dinosaur and I am not very computer savy.

If you are going to try and get everything ahead of time, before you install the bars,

Well, good luck to that because I feel you have a half chance of getting everything correct.

More likely there will be a lot of things crop up that will tend to frustrate you and dig deeper into your wallet.

Of course, the best way would be to sit the bike up straight and install the bars, and then measure what you need to get, to make the cables all work properly.

What you contemplate is a pretty big job and will take a good amount of time to keep it "nice" as opposed to being a bunch of hash, all rigged and rookie looking.

I'm not sure if this will help or not.. With a TBR fork clamp and LaMonts risers [ I don't remember the specs] the cables could be re-routed but I didn't like that.. 3" longer cables work just fine..

I use to have the Phat risers on mine. Didn't need different cables. But if you decide to get any, only order them 2" longer than the stock length. I put some Harley 6" risers on mine and another bike and 2 inches longer is plenty.
