Not planning on selling my Valk but rather adding a GoldWing to the stable.  I found this EvilBay ad and read through the description and did n't find much wrong with it.

Negatives are that it is in New Hampshire and would cost $600 to have it shipped.  It's yellow (no offense to yellow bikes it just ain't for me) so I'll have to take it apart and paint it.  No ABS.

Positives are that it is cheap enough, new enough and has zero miles for a Honda!  It's not even broken in.

So who knows about these GoldWings?

It's an auction...it'll go up another 6 or 7 grand (at least) in 3 days.

If your going to pay for shipping and then have everything disassembled and re-painted I'd say wait until you find the right bike.  If you could get it for the current price it would be a good deal but like Timbo said, I'd be shocked if that price didn't got up quite a bit.

If you look around and scour Craigslist you can find some 08-10 GW's for a very good price, may even find a color you like. I thought I had gotten a pretty good deal on an 08 with 7K miles in February, ($15K), only to look at one a month later at $14K. The reserve has not been met and probably won't be met until it reaches 17-18K, as was mentioned those bids are rising.

The only thing I can think of to look out for is "look out for getting hooked should you get a chance to test ride one. The one thing I had to do with mine was to take it to the dealer for a front brake recall, the previous owner told me about that. It was checked and declared good. It's a wiz to ride.

There are a few ways to make then sound better, but don't know of any way to make them faster.  They are plenty fast enough.  It will outrun the Valk pretty easy.  It's not designed to run with the crotch rockets, but to ride a lot of miles.  It sure is comfortable.
I still like my Valk better.

Be an educated consumer. So, do a check on the company even calling them to make sure they are legit. So far as I know, there have been numerous scams involving large purchases like this.  I see they take the deposit via PayPal.  That's good. But, I see where the balance is only to be made via bank-to-bank wire transfer. And, that is a BIG no no according to what eBay advises how final payment should be made.

I agree with Eli. The other thing that can be a great addition that generally doesn't add much (or any) to the price of a used wing is the Traxxion suspension setup.  There are always a lot of wings for sale and a wide range for comparable bikes.  In addition to the normal places, you might also keep an eye on GL1800Riders.com

Maybe I should see if there are models in the bone yard or salvage bikes?
I don't know your level of masochism, but if you've never seen a GL1800 Service Manual, it's the size of a Dallas white pages and the paper is almost as thin.  The electrical section alone is almost as thick as Honda's Valkyrie Service Manual.  When mine got smashed, the Honda-parts-only (no add-ons at all) repair estimate was over $22,000.  IIRC the Salvage Retention Value was $7,8XX.XX and my friend, the GM at Maxim Honda, agreed with me that neither of us would give more than $2,000.00 for the hulk.  For lots of reasons I would never want to restore a significantly wrecked or salvaged 'wing to roadworthiness.  I don't believe the time versus money works in your favor, and I'm not sure you could find one at a low enough cost that would be cheap and easy enough to repair to justify not waiting for one that is ready to ride.  Do your research, determine what you want, and be patient, vigilant, and opportunistic.  A good deal will come along.

a friend and co worker of mine has his for sale. it may be a little older thatn what you are looking for but I know it has been well taken care of and is a very nice bike. He is selling it because he is upgrading to a newer model, If you know anyone who might be interested I sent a link for the CL ad.

It's a buyer's market this time of year, a sellers' nightmare.  That's why the low price.  Further north, lower the price.  Hoser

Wow

That bike looks VERY tight&tidy for that money. Thank goodness I'm out of garage space. Oh yeah, and the chips too.....  Roll Eyes
