I had the rake kit installed on one of my Valks and loved it. I am considering getting another for my Interstate!

Yes I have a 6 degree kit on my bike from Daryl. Really an amazing difference. Do a search for my user name and rake kit. I posted a lot of feedback on it. Wont be at a computer till tomorrow and cant type on this damn phone.

It doesn't make a huge difference in the look but the handling is great. I put 11-1/2 inch Progressives on the back and that was the only changes. It lowered the whole bike for my 30" inseam and it handles way better than my Interstate.

I have a rake kit on both of my Trikes.

The Chevy, fair warning, it ya see me coming up behind ya in the 11 mile mountain stretch in SmokinJoes area, please get out of my way so I don't have to run over ya.    Then if you can keep up, good luck.   I can run those curves with just my finger tips, where before the kit, I had to muscle it into and out of curves.

Don't try stealing either one out of my Trikes, or ya better have on a flack jacket.   Hollow points make a regular hole going in and at least triple that size hole coming out, as I'll empty the magazine in ya maybe part or all of the 2nd magazine..

I've got the 4 degree on my I/S. I love it. Big difference in low speed handling. Much more stable at parking lot speeds. And very stable on the hwy.

I also have the 4-degree tree on one of my Valks, and it does make a HUGE difference in both the slow speed, and the highway speed handling.  At slow speeds, like in the parking lot or in slow intown traffic, it makes the bike feel like it lost 300 pounds .... and that equates to MUCH easier handling.  This is probably THE BEST money that could be spent on your bike.

Been keeping an eye out on this thread.
I like the part that helps with slow speed handling

Sorry to jump in but maybe you guys that have it, can answer a couple of questions.

Since it lowers the bike some in the front end, would it be necessary to go to lower shocks in order to lower the rear some?

If the bike sits lower than the stock height, would that mean that you would scrape a lot easier on turns?

Yes you probably should.  I have the 6 degree rake kit as well as 11.5 inch shocks.  I shimmed it with washers and grinded away some of the mounting area.  I put up with that for awhile but still wasnt enough.  I was going to have my buddy cut the stand and re-weld it back on to shorten it.  After he looked at it, he ended up just redoing the shim I did with a 1 inch spacer.  All is good now.

Talk with Daryl before you order. If I'm not mistaken he also sells fork extenders that lift the bike's front end to stock configuration. Anything that lowers the Valk, front or back, will make scraping hard parts come sooner than stock height.

Have a valk trike and l am getting a raked tree kit from Daryl as soon as he has made it for me. l was doing it origionally to give it a slightly different look, but after reading some of the comments l now realize it will help loads with the problerms of heavy cornering etc. One thing l wanted to ask, Daryl has suggested 8 degree with 2 inch fork extenders, does anyone have any knowledge or idea on how this will change, or help the the handling/appearance of my trike. Any input, or photos greatly appreciated.

I believe that is the set up I have on my sidecar.  Originally, had 1 3/8" extensions, and worked well with the sidecar.  I took the sidecar off, for a trip, and the handling was not good.  I talked to Darrell at Inzane, and he said if I took the car off, I needed the 2" extensions, or the trail was wrong.  I put the 2" on, and it works fine w or w/o the sidecar.

I believe you are on the right track!  cooldude

I installed Daryl's 6* rake on my Standard trike, didn't use the extensions. It may have lowered the front an inch or so... it  improved the steering greatly. I did have to add an extension to the upper windshield mount, the shield leaned back too far, vibrating on the gauges.

How big of a job is it to do this mod? I have thought about it before and just never got it done. I have a IS now and have 11.5 " 440 shocks on it. It might be time to do this.

It wasn't that hard on the standard front, about six hours start to finish. I'm not familiar with the time required for removing the fairing on an Interstate.

Any idea how much it changes the trail compared to both stock and to the 6 deg. rake?

georgie boy-- I have Daryl's 8* triple tree w/ 2" extensions on my I/S trike.  Leveled it up almost perfectly.
I also have Progressive springs in the forks & found the front to be a bit harsh after the rake, so removed about an ounce of oil in each side.  (maybe 2?? I am getting old/forgetful)
I can R&R the fairing in about 2 hours.  I added SS brake lines when I installed the raked tree & had issues getting them on, so took about 4 hours for that part.  Hardest part is getting the head bearing races out.
Daryl can tell you exactly what the rake/trail is for each.  He told me, but I have long since "disremembered" that.  Stan

Got this suggestion from Daryl 2-3 yrs. ago, worked great. Took me less than two minutes to remove the lower race. Poke it in from the top and let the edge catch the top of the race. Whack it a couple times about 180 deg. apart and the race drops out.
