I guess you'll have to remove my name (Earl in Pensacola and the '97 Tourer with 297K) from the list. Sad to say, last Oct. I sold it for $2500. I put $3000 with that money and bought a '99 Black Tourer that had only 48K and that one is already up to 61.5K. I hope I live long enough to take this one up to the 300K mark! Earl, I haven't removed names from the list. If that is your last report it is there as your last report.

Good Lord willing I will be riding it to Inzane again this year. Scheduled departure is 10 June before dawn.

My '98 Tourer rolled over 100k on the way to Inzane XVI. It now has 101,766 on the clock. This is the first time I've posted the miles. IMO, under 100k on our old girls isn't worth talking about...

Some of you have expressed some sort of notation for a100,000 mile club so I thought I'd post this on this thread for anyone interested. I used clear address labels. I went through Avery but there may be others out there. The labels cost about $15 and the Avery site provides templates and different formats. VRCC on the label may have to be ok'd before it gets too wide spread.

Bruce, Just one question, when do you think Ali will be broke in so you can really start riding? OK, one more.............. Curious, what's your oil change mark and, what lube and filter do you use. Has it always been the same? I know, folks argue about what's best but, your mileage and experience with Ali is an indicator that we all might learn something from.

Hi Willow I fixed up my old girl that the insurance tried to steal and now she has 169963 miles now soon to crack 170000 miles just wanted to see if she is ready for the list. When I bought her she had 20000 miles in July 2006 I plan on keeping her rolling for a lot longer. Thanks Dennis

Don't know if my 2001 Standard can make the list with 61,340 on her. I've had the bike for three years now and averaging 12K a year. I'm catching up and loving every minute of it.

The original intent was to list Valkyries over 100K miles but we got so many reports of those just below that I redirected to include anyone reporting over 60,000 miles. Josh, you're there at the bottom of the high mileage list.

You can remove my name from the list (Earl in Pensacola) as I sold the bike and last year (9/2015) I bought a newer Valkyrie, a '99 black Tourer with 49,5K on it. As of today (2/11/17) the "99 Tourer has 73K. You can replace my 297K '97 Tourer with my current ride info., if you want. Thanx, Earl

376,850 miles. 1999 Tour. Bought it new in May, 1999. Original starter 2 alternators 3 driveshafts (sheared splines because they ran out of grease) 2 used final drives (splines on the ring gear got "shark teeth") The last final drive splines on the ring gear show virtually no wear after 130,000 miles.....why....Moly 60 paste. Last driveshaft lasted 125,000 and looked ok but splines just starting to roll over on u-joint end so it got replaced. Female splined cup that rear of driveshaft fits in should be replaced with driveshaft if you see wear on rear driveshaft splines. Grease driveshaft (both ends) and wheel splines with Moly 60 paste or equivalent every 10,000 miles. It is prudent to replace the 3 o-rings in the final drive at this time as well (they can be purchased in kits of 5 from Carolina Trike). For some, that may be overkill but for me......it has eliminated spline wear and 3 trips on a tow truck. The first three driveshafts failed like clockwork at around 50,000miles. U-joints have been changed at a little over 100,000. I went 140,000 on the last one and it got "wobbly" and started clunking. Just put diaphragms in all 6 carbs $$ Every one had cracks in it. Changed front wheel brgs every 75,000 and never had an issue. Right rear bearing will go 40,000 with no problem but left one will fail before that (it is narrower). 2 left ones have failed for me....never a failure on right rear wheel bearing. Putting the same size bearing on both sides and machining the axle spacer sounds sensible. Just never did it. So.....I change em both every time that I put another car tire on. Preventive maintenance SAVES money. Front shocks seem to start leaking and have to be rebuilt every 150,000. No clutch trouble of any kind.....replaced clutch fluid every 2-3 yrs. The clutch master cyl. and clutch slave cyl. have not been rebuilt yet either....... but it is time to think about them. Replaced front rotors once and rear brake rotor twice. Sintered brake pads stop with less brake pedal pressure but they wear the rotor more. So...I opt for the organic. They don't wear the rotor but they are "dirtier", in my opinion, with more brake dust. Everything is a trade-off. Bottom line: Keep moly 60 paste or equivalent on both ends of driveshaft and wheel splines and the Valkyrie may be the most reliable motorcycle that was ever built.

I would like to correct a typo I made when I posted my Valkyrie at 130k. That was my other bike, the Valkyrie only had 126k. My bad. I wanted to correct the typo before now but I figured it would be easier to just ride another 4000 miles, which I would have far surpassed by now but I went down on the bike at 126k and until someone buys it and puts the next 100k on it I am stuck at 126k.
