We have had some new folks recently and I would not want anyone to be left out of the best event of our year. Many of you know, the DFW VRCC was the club with the highest dollar amount in contributions of any club at last year's Ride For Kids. We also made a really good showing when it came to volunteers helping with the logistics of the event. Many of the usual suspects are lined up for one of the two training times this week. Frank Jenson is even coming in from Houston to help out!

Just as in years past, I am always a little nervous until I see about 40 folks at each of the training sessions. Please tevo the VP debate and come out to Joe's Crab Shack in Grapevine tonight - Thursday, Oct. 2nd to get your t-shirt and train up on your position. Or, if tonight does not work for you, we are doing another training Saturday at the same location at 2pm. Bring friends and neighbors too. Show the gals (/guys) your sensitive side.

Come early if you are eating. This meeting will be in the larger room, not the garage, and will require some quite concentration to get er done.

Thanks in advance. I hope to see you soon. ~Jeff

I'll be there tonight and Julie will be there Saturday.  I heard that we'll have folks coming in from OK and AR for the ride, but may not be as many from Houston as some are still in repair mode from Ike.

Hope to see a lot of Valks!

Ok, I gotta ask.  I will not be able to work at this event due to my own responsibilities but I am hoping to be able to donate and ride.  How does that work?  Do I just show up Sunday morning?

I have to go by Maxim on the way home and check the progress of my bike; I may not have a choice in the riding part if my kickstand isn't wireless yet.

Chuck, yep, that's all you do.  Just show up Sunday morning. Register between 8 - 9:45. Have some coffee, look at bikes, ride. Have lunch and enjoy the lunch program.  Enjoy the rest of the day.  And, here is a link with a map and other info http://www.pbtfus.org/rideforkids/calendar/2008/dallasfortworth08.html
Hope you two can make it.  You'll be glad you did.

You should tell the parking crew that you are with the Valk Club so you get to ride up front with some other quality bikes! Get there early for coffee and donuts. ~Jeff

Please don't be a fence straddler and figure the other fellar will take up the slack folks. If you have ever heard a call to arms, this note should have a familiar ring!

2pm at Joe's Crab Shack in Grapevine. If you are going to eat, please come early enough to finish by 2pm.

I thank you, Valk Folks! The kids will thank you Sunday! ~Jeff
