June 21, 2009. The longest day of the year.

Well, the most sunlight of the year!!  Here in Eau Claire the sun rose at 5:20 this morning, and will set at 8:56.  That’s nearly 16 full hours of riding!! 

I went out side and took note of the sunrise; it was to the left of my shed from my back deck.  Sunsets are hard to see since I have a bunch of pine trees to the west. 

I love the summer time.  Especially when my brother from Phoenix calls and complains how miserably hot it is!!  All be it, the heat down there is only for three months, the cold up here lasts 8 months, I’d trade any day!  Right now it’s 70 with 66% humidity. 

It’s a good thing I don’t live in the south, I’d have to buy a new set of tires every year, and no wonder so many of you southerners go to the “dark side”!!

First day of the summer.....longest day of the year.....and my son's birthday. My wife will agree that the longest day of the year was 30 years ago. Happy Fathers Day, everyone.....Happy Birthday, Rob!!
