Ebay runs some cheap prices on pads, are these cheap China stuff or are they descent cheap China stuff. I ride low speed so braking power is not a big issue with me.
Is the OEM stuff superior? Thanks for any help.

From what I've read, pretty much every thing other than OEM squeaks.
However, I haven't tried multiple types, so that statement isn't worth very much.

Look up what a set of replacement(all 3)rotors go for. I have heard pro and con on other than O E M pads. We are talking your BRAKES here. When i replaced mine last year and rebuilt the rear caliper i DID NOT want to skimp on brake pads. Your money-do what you want. BUT if it were me-O E M pads all around. OH wait-i already have O E M all the way around. When i next need brake pads again-O E M. RIDE SAFE.

EBC works for me, they hum when they are applied, if you don't mind that, they work fine for less money. I happen to like the hum, but most don't. The organic pad type DO NOT hurt the rotor. Hoser

In my experience, if you are running stock rotors, run the OEM pads as well. Best stopping power, least rotor wear. The Valk has absolutely awesome brakes if they are working correctly.
If you have aftermarket rotors, it's a different ballgame. Those that run EBC rotors feel the EBC pads work well with them (as they should).

I only use OEM now and have had very good luck buying them on E-Bay or on the VRCC classifieds. I just finished installing the fronts last weekend $40 bucks for both of sets, new in the original packaging. When I see a deal on Valkyrie parts I know I will need in the future, I buy them. I prefer OEM with OEM rotors. I tried EBC and didn't like them. They did not squeal at all, but made allot of noise when the brakes were applied. They functioned well, just didn't care for the extra brake noise and switched them back to OEM

Im using the Ebay cheapies now on my 99 rebuilt. They seem to work fine. Id say they are more or less FFs. Nice and quiet with little to no dust. But Not enough miles to say anything about the over all quality.
They are just generic Chinese made brakes. I also bought a set of chrome risers and mirriors from the same vendor. Darn close to OEM and at 1/3rd the cost.
Risers were $39 and exact same as a set I paid $149 from an American vender.
Mirrors were $19 a pair.
Id use all of this stuff again any time on any bike.

At the price, it's not much of a gamble and
Organic pads are the easiest on the rotors.
That's what I run and have no complaints.

Good job, keep sending our job's to the Chinese gulag TRAITOR! The Chinese put my family business in the toilet back in the 90s. We couldnt compete witha bowl of rice. But where do you think Honda has their parts made?? Japan. EBC is an English based company and Im willing to bet their parts are made in China too. I usually use EBC FF pads but for something I had no intention of keeping and still dont. I didnt care where the parts came from during the rebuild.

I have tried others, and for the piece of mind, and complete lack of any complications (squeaking , reduce breaking power etc), I purchase Genuine Honda product for my Fat Lady. We both deserve the best when it come to breaking. I use other aftermarket stuff no problem, but I have paid to learn that saving money has it's place. And brakes is not that place.
Cheers,
GJS

Even some Honda dealers will not supply genuine Honda parts when discussing brake pads.
Be sure they are in the genuine Honda packaging.

I've only used OEM, but still can't get rid of the squealing from the rears at slow speeds after the last change.
