Anyone here have experience with the Venture line of heated garments?
http://www.ventureheat.com/default.aspx

I went to purchase a full set of Gerbrings but found they are out of stock and don't have an ETA for US production to start. Apparently they are coming back from being off shore.

These Venture folks seem to have a similar product, out of California.
Anyone using it?
A full set, Jacket, Pants, Gloves and insoles comes in at $576.99 before shipping.
Seems very competitive.

Thanks ahead of time.

I was at Chicago motorcycle show last weekend (2/8/13) and they had the US made products in stock and available for purchase there. They said they were moving back to US to shorten the production to user "pipeline" if there are any issues. There is a lifetime warranty on wiring.

Did you contact Gerbing direct? http://gerbing.com/

They highly recommended having a controller. I did not see that on your laundry list.

They said many buy a jacket liner first and add on pieces as needed.

I was very close to buying, but thought I'd run it past the wife first.

It is MAP pricing, so it where ever you buy, cost should be the same.

Also unrelated, but of interest was the new F6B on display.

Thanks for the links Beanman & Former BMW Guy (FBG)!

I was not aware I could purchase directly.

With respect to the Aerostich product FBG, Do you know what they use for heating elements?
I have a Jacket Liner that no longer works. Nor do the gloves I bought with the jacket liner.
Each piece broke down over time. 2-3 years on the gloves and 3-4 on the jacket.

I can feel the heating wires all over the place.

Both the Gerbing and Venture seem to employ a whole new style of element.

Gerbing has 'MicroWire'. I'm sure either would be a great improvement over my current stock.

I couldn't find what the Aerostich offering uses. I'll call them and ask tomorrow.

Thanks,

I don't know what they use for the element.
When I competed in LD events and rally's I used one of their first generation vests which I believe was made by Eclipse...that was over 15 years ago and it still works great.
In my opinion, the make the best motorcycling equipment on the planet.

I am sure they will be able to give you the specs on the wiring.

Good luck!

Called AeroStich today.

Their Jacket is wire based.
I'll be going with Gerbring or Venture, I just can't make up my mind.

I prefer the Gerbring product look and sizing.
I prefer the Venture heat controller. Buttons instead of dials. You can change heat setting through 1-4 setting by pushing a hidden button. Also, the Venture glove have their own heat controllers built in, but the Gerbings look better (way better)!

I may try and use Venture's heat controllers on Gerbring's clothing.

Cheers,

Go take a look at http://www.warmnsafe.com/  They are a LOT better than Gerbing.  Also you can learn a lot about the tech aspects there.  I have their jacket liner and gloves and controller.  Actually they used to make the controller for Gerbing, then the latter reverse engineered that and outsourced it from China.  Screwing WNS - and he couldn't win because infringement suits are won by those with the most money for litigation costs.
