Hello fellow Valk' addicts.  Need some advice on increased frontal illumination!!   coolsmiley

Anyone install one of these on a Valk' Tourer?  I don't want to drop a ton of cash and find out the darn thing doesn't fit.  Also, for those who have successfully installed, any pointers you care to share (i.e., recommended relay, mounting brackets, etc.).

Haven't seen one mounted, but if you do install any light bar, be sure to have it on a circuit totally separate from the headlight circuit. First, because there already is a lot of current going through the start switch on a normal headlight setup. Second, if your headlight goes south on you, you still have the extra lights to get you home.

My son put those on his VTX, Chrome peeled off in just a year or two. The LED turn signals are not very visible.  He also had to rebuild the Halogen Socket after burning it up.  Other than that, they are great!

The light bar on my buddy Henry's Valkyrie was kuryakyn, looked like that, and the Chrome all
peeled off of it too...

Putting on a lightbar and driving lights from Big Bike Parts was one of the first things I did to my bike back when I first bought it.

This one.....

http://www.bigbikeparts.com/Inventory/Navision/55-312?catalogNo=1

As you can see, they have several lightbars and styles to choose from for our Valks.....

http://www.bigbikeparts.com/TradePoint/CategoryBasic?category=64401&catalogNo=1&categoryName=Lights%20%26%20Electrical

I still have that lightbar on the bike, but last year when I gave the bike a make-over, I took off the original spots and put on a set of Cobra spots.......

http://cobrausa.com/access_detail.php?model_id=156&make_id=2&category_id=15&product_id=2531&model=VT1300CX%20Fury&product_type=Motorcycle%20Accessories&product_name=Spotlight%20Assembly%20w/Visor

I have that light bar mounted on the bike with a Woodys fairing, but I also had it on the bike with the oem windshield before the bike's rehab.  The windshield can be taken on and off no problem with this lightbar.

Had that setup on my standard for 3 or 4 years.

The turn signals are definitely washed out by the driving lights, but they do put out some adequate light.  The national cycle driving lights I had on before these really lit up the side of the road, which was better for seeing deer or other critters at night.

Here's a couple of pictures showing them during the daylight when we rode the dragon a few years back.

I've seen some really nasty Cobra stuff, including their light bars... There's a theory that
the older stuff holds up better than the newer stuff, all my cobra stuff is hanging in there
so far...

The Hurt study says that motorcycles with a large frontal presentation are UNDER represented in the crash group.
Whatever you do..... make the lights LARGE..
