Any tips for a super boggy throttle response? I have a 98 with 6-1 cobras and stock carbs. The previous owner had the carbs rebuilt by Honda due to the same problem, with the OEM exhaust. I drove the bike just a little before changing pipes, and the problem was there but did not seem as bad. Throttle response is quite poor. Only 4k orig miles on this beast.

A couple of tanks of fuel with Sea Foam could help, and maybe IS carb springs...

I too would look at the carburetor jets and air filter. I'm suspect of being told that the carburetors were cleaned, I always wonder how well they were cleaned. Run several heavy doses of Sea-foam thru it and try to keep the engine speed low [2000 rpm]. Is the poor throttle response all the time, or just at low engines ?

A 98 with ONLY 4 K has been doing a LOT of sitting. This alcohol gasoline we burn creates a lot of varnish when it just sits. Run a can of B-12 Chem Tool thru it. Most auto parts stores and wally wurld carry it. And when you put the treatment in with a FULL tank of FRESH gasoline keep the R P Ms around 1500-1800 so the treatment gets into the slow circuits. When you get done with that park it for at least a day so the stuff can work. Do that a couple of times and hopefully it will clean it up. As some others have found out IF the chemicals don't clean it up you MIGHT be on the way to a carburetor tear down and cleanup. Try the chemicals first. Keep us updated on how it's going for you. RIDE SAFE.

First, congrats on scoring a low mileage Valkyrie.

I imagine you actually have 6 into 2 Cobra pipes as 6 into 1 would be a plumbers nightmare...

Need a little more info.  Does the bike exhibit just a flat spot or does it stumble and pop when you quickly open the throttle, then wind up normally?  Or is it something else you're experiencing?

Please give a little more info.  Do you have stock air filter or K&N?  Have you done any mods such as trigger wheel, ECT mod, or inline fuel filter?

Good luck...maybe we can steer you to the solution.

Blew it on my post, 6-6 cobras not 6-1! Everything else is bone stock.  Stumbles mostly off idle at low rpm. Cruising/roll-on is fine. Not familiar with sea foam as others mentioned.
