This is a question for you guys that have the Dyna 3000 installed on your Valk. I put a new set of tires on my gurl recently & decided this would be a good time to see just how fast she would go. On my first try I had the Dyna set on 3 (the setting it was on when I bought it) & I hit a max speed of 131 mph on the speedo. And then changed the setting to 7 & was only able to reach 126 mph. Can someone explain to me why it runs faster top in on 3?

I'm no guru but looking at the advance curves and your top speed reductions suggests that curve 7 may be simply too much advance for your setup. Dyna says curves 6 and 7 are for engines with modified exhaust and jets. Are you running premium to avoid detonation?

BonS, I was running premium gas the day I ran the test but it runs just as well on 87 octane. What I think is happening is it is starving for gas...I have the rev limiter set at 8000 so I know I'm not turning that many rpm's at 131 mph....

I don't know about the Dyna settings, but, these monsters do not like much ignition advance. 27ยบ is about tops, power falls off pretty quick beyond that.
