Had a great time! It was great to meet the new folks & finally meet Bruce. Got home & picked back up where I left off working on the Shadow. Off to the swap meet in Webster tomorrow morning!

hey? who's the flabby guy in the vest? it was good to hook up with all the fine folks and to meet Valk Royalty DDT (Bruce) nice guy, we've crossed paths before he looks very familiar to me. went back to Inverness with Greg and Joe, and Joe graciously synched my carbs, I still have alot of popping at idle and decel so back to the drawing board....

It was a good day. I enjoyed seeing the people that I already knew and enjoyed meeting new folks. Found out that Musclehead and I are neighbors, small world!

Yeah, I recognize that "Honorary Cajun"....good to see you're still venturing out and about Bruce. Wish I could have been there, good thing I didn't make the run 'cause Rita was scary sick all day. High temp, first hot then cold then hot...back/forth. Not sure what's going on, I spent a couple hours just sitting by the bed holding her hand. Seemed to calm her down a bit because she'd doze off from time to time, than wake up suddenly and grab a wastebasket. It's worrisome.

Great pic's Terry! It was a pleasure seeing you again and meeting your wife. Good call, good weather, and yes I had the ribs! They were delish....no, not a poet, just rambelings. Eddie, great to have a chance to talk to you. Jeff, nice to see you again. Nice new ride Earl! Hope you enjoyed the ride. Got to meet DDT ! I know we all enjoyed that along with meeting his riding partner for the trip Jim. I havn't mentioned everyone or met everyone yet in my two outtings; I will say this is the finest group of people I have had the chance to meet in many many years. This is really fun for me! I like the pick a spot and meetup. About a 225 mile round trip for me I know many rode farther. Great lunch ride! A little run up to Webster bike flea in the morning then start my Valk service and multi point this week. Should take about a month on my time schedule if all goes well.

Glad I made this event. It was good seeing everyone, and finally getting to meet the legendary DDT. Although Flask, his neighbor, Dave I think?, and myself never did find the Swamp Cabbage festival, we had a great ride and scoped out some beautiful scenery together. Hey, it's always about the ride more than the destination! By the time I got back to the house it was 6:20 and I had ridden 370 miles. It was a perfect day! Even my back held out until I got home. Hope to see you all soon again!

Jim and I made it back yesterday afternoon to the area we call home... and all is well. We had a fantastic ride! Neither of us were properly attired on the ride down last Friday... although, both of us had additional layers in our bags we could have used to ward-off the unexpected coolness. Go figure... You'd think by now we'd both know we're no longer bullet-proof, indestructable, and incredibly brilliant.
Saturday was a picture perfect day! Too bad Jim and I had gotten a bit carried away with our celebration the evening before, and therefore were not on top of our game... Still, we were able to make the all important tar-kickin', big-doggin', back-slappin' session on the parking lot followed by some lip-smakin' fine swine... BBQ is, perhaps, my favorite of the basic food groups...
There was a time when I'd show up for these and know practically everyone there... Saturday I knew only a few, a low percentage of the overall turnout. That's good, however, because it demonstrates how the longevity of any organization over time is dependent upon the draw it has for new members... to swell the ranks and to replace those who, like me, have moved on.
The bike itself is a part of this equation of course, but I'm convinced the social diminsion, the comraderie and the mutual bonds that develops between members of our special kind, is the real glue that holds it together and keeps it alive. Y'all have something very unique and good going on down there, and I'm really glad to be welcome to drop by now and then... Thanks!
